TEA SCONES

 

INGREDIENTS

 

450g self raising flour

50g sugar

110g margarine

1 egg

water or milk

 

 

METHOD

Preheat oven to 200c

Mix the flour and sugar in a bowl

Rub in the margarine

Add the beaten eggs and a little milk or water to make a soft dough

Turn on to a floured board and roll to ½ inch thickness

Use a pastry cutter to cut the dough into circles

Place on a lightly floured baking tray and brush with egg or milk

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes

 

 

Serve with butter or jam and cream
